Update

First of all, I would like to thank you for following my blog posts. This platform has allowed me to speak (and at some times, rant) about some of my favorite pieces of classical music, as well as some pieces which I believe everyone should know about. While it was certainly a challenge for myself, this process has also been deeply rewarding. From what I can tell, I have had a truly amazing number of people read my posts and I truly can’t thank you, the readers and listeners, enough for that.

I initially started this blog as something to keep myself busy through this quarantine. At the beginning, I imagined that there would be a day when society would return to a sort of normalcy, and that would coincide with when I would conclude this blog. It has become increasingly evident that the COVID-19 pandemic will never fully leave our lives, but that we have also gotten over a major hurdle in this battle. With some cities starting to ease up on “stay-home” orders, I believe that the future is bright. That being said, I do want to continue these posts through our continuing quarantine. So, having completed a full month of daily posts, I will now be switching into a once-a-week posting schedule starting tomorrow, May 1 (which means all future posts will be written on Friday). At the present moment, I plan to continue this up through the end of July, which will take me close to when school starts up again.

Again, thank you so much for your support and interest in this continuing series. I look forward to writing about several more pieces which I believe will entertain and challenge. In between new posts, if you find yourself bored, I urge you to revisit my old posts, share your thoughts, and push yourself to get into the heads of all of these composers. For me, writing about so many pieces has challenged me to think about and articulate why I find music interesting, and how I can apply that to my own compositions. If you would ever like to know more about me or my thoughts on any of the composers I’ve written about, feel free to contact me here. In the meantime, wash your hands and keep listening to music.
