Born out of the mutual desire to bring more new music composed for larger ensembles to Peabody, the composition department chair, Dr. Felipe Lara, and doctoral conducting candidate Juliano Aniceto cofounded the Old Bay New Music Ensemble (OBNM). Now in its second year of bringing works written for sinfonietta to life, this ensemble has already established itself as thoroughly convicted and convincing in performance.

This concert will feature the works of Peabody composers, including Carlos’ recently completed warped parallel landscapes, which was written for OBNM’s specific instrumentation. The concert, taking place in Peabody’s Leith Symington Griswold Hall, will be free and open to the public. Additionally, a livestream will be available as a feed from Peabody Remote.
