Tango for string trio

Tango for string trio is a short work composed for the final project of the introductory Composition Workshop class at the Blair School of Music. This class focus on experimenting with several very short works using techniques that were not as common or familiar to art music. Having excelled in the class, this work represents a combination of techniques that Carlos had rarely used previously. Adapted from a short piano sketch, this work features very rhythmic sections and dense harmonies beneath a driving tango melody.
