In an effort to pair the musicianship of the composition and percussion departments at the Peabody Institute, six student composers were selected by faculty to write pieces over the course of the Fall 2022 semester to be performed in the Spring 2023 semester. Through this opportunity, Carlos has had the pleasure of working with percussionists Chad Beebe, Matt Boyle, Sam Carullo, and Benjamin Giroux to craft his newest work, Strata.

During the concert, all six newly composed works for percussion will be receiving their first public performance. The event was initially scheduled for late January but has since been postponed to early March. It will take place in Peabody’s Griswold Hall and will be open to the public.
